Leah Clark Prefers Idaho
In an era when “rant radio” hosts make a very comfortable living trashing government, the Idaho Preferred program is a reminder that when government as “we the people” reflects our best collective aspirations, it can bring together “the best and the brightest” to serve causes that the private sector might never champion as a bottom line priority.
This is certainly the case with Idaho Preferred, which currently represents more than 180 culinary business ventures that reflect our state’s agricultural diversity, from fruit and vegetable growers to specialty food makers and farmers markets.
In this Behind the Menu podcast interview with Idaho Preferred manager Leah Clark, we’ll learn how her program goes about its mission to “promote Idaho food and agricultural products” by connecting consumers and producers through efforts ranging from partnerships with local grocery stores and school cafeterias to culinary celebrations.
